Plan data: Australian Energy Regulator, Consumer Data Right generic plan data (prices checked 15 Sept 2026, 11:49 am AEST, refreshed every night). Yearly cost is an estimate for a typical household at the usage shown, using each plan's first tariff period and guaranteed discounts only. Demand charges, controlled loads, conditional discounts and your actual usage pattern will change the real bill. Not every plan listed here is available through the switching service we link to. "Retailer available" means the retailer is on the service's published provider list (we last checked it on 14 September 2026); the service carries its own selection of each retailer's plans, so a plan shown here may be listed there under a different name or not at all. "Compare only" retailers aren't on that list. Those plans are still in the AER data and you can switch to them by contacting the retailer directly. QVolt may receive a referral fee if you switch through the service. See the disclosure at the bottom of this page.
How it works

Three steps, and the last one isn't yours.

  1. Step 1

    Leave your email

That's all we need. We'll use it to keep you posted on getting the most out of solar, and to know we've pointed you in the right direction.

  2. Step 2

    Compare plans

You'll be handed to a free comparison tool. Enter your address and a couple of quick questions to see plans available for your home.

  3. Step 3

    Switch online in minutes

Pick a plan and the comparison service handles the switch with the retailer. No interruption to supply, no need to call anyone.

Why it matters with solar

A good system on a bad plan still leaves money on the table.

We install a lot of solar. The most common thing we see at the first bill after switch-on is a household still sitting on a plan that was picked years ago, before the panels went up.

Feed-in tariffs vary a lot

With solar on the roof, what you're paid for exports matters as much as what you pay for imports. Plans differ by several cents per kWh.

Usage rates change every year

Retailers reprice plans regularly, and a plan that was competitive when you signed up often isn't a year later.

Supply charges still add up

Even a house that exports most days pays a daily supply charge. Shaving that is one of the easiest wins after installing solar.

The fine print

How the switch works, and what we get out of it

We're solar installers, not an energy retailer, and we don't want to pretend otherwise. So for the switch itself we hand you to a specialist comparison service that does this all day, every day.

  • Comparing and switching is free for you.
  • QVolt may receive a referral fee if you switch. It doesn't affect the plans you're shown or their prices.
  • Neither the comparison service nor QVolt supplies your energy; your contract is with the retailer you choose.
  • QVolt only holds the email and postcode you give us on this page. We never see your bill, usage or plan details.
  • Plan information is general advice and doesn't take your personal circumstances into account. Check the details before you switch.
Questions

The short version

Is this free?
Yes. Comparing and switching is free for you. QVolt may receive a referral fee from the comparison service if you go on to switch. That fee doesn't change the price of any plan you're shown.
Why do you ask for my email?
Two reasons. It lets us keep track of who we've referred so we can follow up if anything goes sideways. And about once a quarter we re-check the plans for your postcode against the one you looked at, and email you only if a cheaper plan has come up. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and we never sell your details.
Does QVolt see my energy plan or bill?
No. Everything you enter on the comparison service stays with them. We only hold the email and postcode you give us here.
Which areas are covered?
The switching service covers NSW, ACT, VIC, SA, TAS and parts of QLD (south-east Queensland, where most QVolt customers are). Gas-only comparison is available in WA.
Where does the plan data come from?
The table uses generic plan data that retailers must publish under the Consumer Data Right, collected by the Australian Energy Regulator. We turn each plan's rates into a yearly estimate for a typical household. It's a guide for comparing plans, not a quote: your real bill depends on how and when you use power.
I don't have solar yet. Can I still use this?
Absolutely. Switching to a better plan is worthwhile on its own. And when you're ready to look at solar, the QVolt team is a phone call away.
Ready when you are

Two minutes now, a smaller bill every quarter.

Disclosure. Energy plan switching from this page is completed through Canstar's energy comparison service. QVolt may receive a referral fee from Canstar if you switch. Not every plan shown above is available through that service, and plan information is general advice only. Read Canstar's full disclosures and the QVolt affiliate disclosure.
