Nerang has a few heritage-listed sites in the old town centre but no broad overlays affecting rooftop solar; the City Plan treats panels on existing homes as accepted development. Much of the suburb is within the bushfire hazard overlay, which does not restrict panels but influences cable routing and inverter placement. Energex serves the area with the standard 5 kW export cap on single phase. Acreage properties on three-phase can export up to 15 kW. Flood overlays along the Nerang River affect equipment height on the lowest blocks.
