Council and network

Nearly all of Paddington is covered by the Traditional building character overlay, and parts sit in a Heritage overlay. Panels on an existing dwelling remain accepted development. On a locally heritage-listed house we check the citation before quoting. Council does not require a permit for panels. It does care about front-facing changes on pre-1911 cottages, so we favour the rear planes. Energex single-phase export is capped at 5 kW. Do I need council approval for solar on a Paddington character home?

My roof is shaded by big trees. Is solar still worth it?
