What applies to a Bulimba install
Council and network
Much of Bulimba is within the Traditional building character overlay, and panels on existing homes remain accepted development. The riverfront blocks sit in the flood overlay, which affects where we can mount the inverter and battery: we install them above the defined flood level, usually on an upper wall or the garage ceiling line. Three-phase supply is common on the rebuilds, allowing 15 kW of export under Energex rules. Body corporate approval is needed for the townhouse developments off Riding Road.

Will panels be visible on my Bulimba home?
On a flat or skillion Colorbond roof, no. On a steep Queenslander we use the rear and side planes. We supply a rendered layout before you commit so you can see exactly where each panel sits.
I am in the flood zone. Does that change the install?
It changes where the inverter and battery go. We mount them above the flood planning level and keep the switchboard modifications compliant with Energex flood requirements. Panels on the roof are unaffected.
Can my system charge an EV during the day?
Yes. With 10 to 13 kW on the roof there is typically 4 to 6 kW spare through the middle of the day. We can install a solar-aware EV charger that only draws what the roof is producing.
