What makes Steiglitz different
Steiglitz is a small waterside community at the end of Jacobs Well Road, where the Pimpama River meets Moreton Bay's southern channels. The homes are 1970s to 1990s fibro, brick and tin on flat blocks, with newer builds near the boat ramp, all under postcode 4207. It is 10 km east of our Ormeau depot, low-lying, breezy and close enough to the water that salt spray reaches every roof.
- 17,406 rooftop systems in postcode 4207, with 1,428 added in the year to July 2026
- New 4207 systems averaged 10.1 kW last year
- 1,363 batteries installed across 4207 in the 12 months to July 2026
- Steiglitz is 10 km from our depot, about 15 minutes along Jacobs Well Road
- Open, flat bayside blocks with no shading deliver the full 5.2 sun-hours a day
What postcode 4207 has already put on its roofs
Every accredited solar and battery install in Australia is registered with the Clean Energy Regulator by postcode. These are the numbers for 4207, which covers Steiglitz, along with Beenleigh, Stapylton and Yatala.
Source: Clean Energy Regulator, postcode data for small-scale installations, data as at 31/07/2026. Counts are for the whole postcode, and the last 12 months will still rise because installers have a year to register certificates.

What we find on Steiglitz roofs
Steiglitz roofs are simple tin hips and gables with clear northern sky, and 6.6 kW fits on one plane. The design factors are the water: marine-grade rail, stainless fasteners and salt-mist certified panels for the spray, and inverters mounted above the storm tide level. The bay breeze keeps panels cooler in summer, and the flat open outlook means no shading at all.
- Housing era
- 1970s to 1990s homes, some 2010s rebuilds
- Roof material
- Tin and Colorbond mostly, some concrete tile

- 600 to 1,000 m2, flat and low-lying

- Very low, open bayside blocks
Panel counts at 440 W per panel, about 2 m² each. We confirm the real count from satellite imagery before quoting.

What applies to a Steiglitz install
Council and network
Steiglitz sits within the City of Gold Coast's coastal hazard and storm tide overlays, which govern how high inverters and batteries are mounted but not roof panels. Panels on an existing home are accepted development under the City Plan. Energex serves the area on a long rural feeder, so we commission inverters carefully for voltage rise and the standard 5 kW single-phase export cap applies. Corrosion category C4 or higher mounting hardware is standard on every job here.
STC rebate in Steiglitz
Steiglitz is in STC Zone 3 (rating 1.382). With a 5-year deeming period, a 6.6 kW system earns about 45 certificates, roughly $1,755 at $39 each, and a 10 kW system about 69, roughly $2,691. We claim it for you and take it off the quote.
Battery discount
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program cuts roughly 30 percent off the installed cost of a home battery, stepping down each year to 2030. Postcode 4207 added 1,363 batteries in the year to July 2026. We size the battery to your evening use, not the biggest unit on the truck.
Asked by Steiglitz homeowners
Will salt from the bay corrode a solar system in Steiglitz?
Not if the hardware is right. We use marine-grade anodised rail, stainless fasteners and panels certified to the IEC 61701 salt mist standard. Bare galvanised fittings are what fail near the water, and we do not use them.
Where does the inverter go on a low-lying block?
Above the storm tide planning level from the council mapping, which usually means high on an external wall or in the ceiling space of a raised home. Batteries go on a raised wall mount.
Why does the inverter need special settings on a rural feeder?
Long rural feeders like the one serving Steiglitz see more voltage rise on sunny afternoons. We commission inverters to Energex's Volt-Watt and Volt-VAr settings so they ramp down smoothly rather than tripping off.
